Predictions

We’ve assembled our panel of WWE superfans to predict the winners this weekend. They are:

  • Tyler
  • Logan

Chelsea Green vs. Iyo Sky vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Zoey Stark – Women’s MITB Match

Tyler:

There’s a lot of talent in this match, but Tiffany Stratton has to win the briefcase, right? Capturing it makes her instantly relevant as long as she holds it and sets her up to move into the main event level when she’s fully ready. Iyo Sky and Naomi are contenders, but no one needs it more than Stratton right now.

Pick: Tiffany Stratton

Logan:

The only two women I could realistically see winning this match would be either Iyo Sky, Naomi or Tiffany Stratton. As much as I’ll be rooting for the other two, my gut says it’s going to be Stratton who ends up with the briefcase. WWE seems to be really high on her and a MITB briefcase would be the quickest and easily way to move her spot up the card, giving current Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley a new challenger to feud with.

Pick: Tiffany Stratton

Jey Uso vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade vs. Chad Gable vs. LA Knight vs. Drew McIntyre – Men’s MITB Match

Tyler:

The only thing I know for sure is that this match is going to have a lot of outside interference. Logan Paul will almost certainly cost LA Knight the briefcase. The same can be said for CM Punk costing Drew McIntyre. Who knows, we might even see the Wyatt Sicks mess with Chad Gable. There’s a really good case to be made for Carmelo Hayes here, but I can also see WWE holding off one more year. Yeet in the Bank sounds fun, and Jey Uso REALLY needs something to make him more believable as a title threat since he loses every time he gets a shot. Let’s go with him here.

Pick: Jey Uso

Logan:

Although I’d love to see Drew or LA Knight win the money in the bank, I expect interference from Logan Paul / CM Punk to interfere in the match when they have a clear shot of grabbing the briefcase, which would help strengthen those current feuds. My prediction for this match will be that Jey Uso will be the one to get the MITB briefcase this year as I see this as the only current viable storyline with him that could result in him winning a world title. I think WWE needs to pull the trigger with him and push him to the main event status that his moniker suggests.

Pick: Jey Uso

Sami Zayn(c) vs. Bron Breakker For the Intercontinental Championship

Tyler:

Part of me wants to pick Sami here due to Bron’s overzealousness getting the better of him. It just feels like Breakker getting the belt is a better moment for Summer Slam than here. But despite all that, I feel like Breakker not only wins this match, but he crushes Sami for the title.

Pick: Bron Breakker

Logan:

Bron Breakker has been given a meteoric rise since joining the main roster. I believe he will take that momentum in with him into this IC Title match and walk away with the gold.

Pick: Bron Breakker

Damian Priest(c) vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship

Tyler:

If Seth Rollins wins this match, it’s so Gunther can have his big Summer Slam moment against one of the biggest names in WWE. If Damian Priest wins, I feel like it’s meant to solidify his status as a main event talent against a big name before he loses to Gunther. In the end, I feel like Seth is here to give this match a “big fight” feel on the way to the real payoff at Summer Slam. Finn Balor gets involved, and Priest retains.

Pick: Damian Priest

Logan:

I see the result of this match as what would fit best a more ideal matchup for Summer Slam. Since Gunther won the King of the Ring, he gets a title shot in August. In a certain way, a loss for Seth Rollins in this match may actually protect him from a hotshot title reign as I predict Gunther will be world champion by the end of Summer Slam. My prediction in this match would be Finn Balor getting involved one way or another (even if Damian Priest wants it or not), which will result in another tainted victory for Priest. Priest will likely be the one to head into to Summer Slam with the gold and expect a match between Rollins and Balor to be on that card as well as a result of this match.

Pick: Damian Priest

Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton vs The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa) with Jacob Fatu

The Bloodline will take part in a 6-man tag match at Money in the Bank

Tyler:

The Bloodline has to win this match. I think it also needs to be kind of dominant. The real questions here are: does Roman Reigns return (maybe), how much does Jacob Fatu get involved (a lot), and will there be dissension within Cody’s team (I’ll be a lot that Randy delivers an RKO to Mr. Rhodes to set up a Summer Slam match IF Roman Returns here. That’s because if Roman returns, we get Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa at Summer Slam. Look for Kevin Owens to take the pin as the Bloodline prevails.

Pick: The Bloodline

Logan:

Being that the formation of the new version of the Bloodline is still fresh, I would say WWE will be protecting them in this match and having them take the win this Saturday. Getting a win over the top stars like Rhodes, Orton and Owens will help further legitimize the group. The addition of Jacob Fatu will serve as the X-factor of the match and will likely be the one to get the pitfall (probably on Owens).

Pick: The Bloodline
