It’s been a crazy month for 2k as WWE 2K23 is about to release very soon. To fuel the hype, they have already released the roster of pro wrestlers that will be playable in the game. Curiously, there are a number of notable names not on that list. Let’s have a look, shall we?
Hit Row (B-Fab, Ashante Adonis, and Top Dolla) – I don’t want to be that guy, but I’m not upset at Hit Row not being in the game. First off the group is terrible without Isaiah “Swerve” Scott (Now Swerve Strickland in AEW) and almost every one of them is super green in the ring excluding maybe Ashante Adonis. There are reports that WWE has given up on the group. They may be on the outs with WWE soon if the company decides to do more cuts with a sale of the company potentially coming.
Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows – A bit of a surprise that they aren’t in the game, considering that they are in The O.C. faction with AJ Styles. I could see them being in the DLC.
Candice LeRae – Wow! Super shocked that LeRae is not in this game as he returned to WWE in August 2023. Plus she was in 2K22 as well, so I am surprised they did not do a simple copy-and-paste from that game to this one. I would not be surprised if LeRae will feature in a DLC.
Bray Wyatt – There has to be a DLC coming focused on Bray Wyatt as I was shocked that he was not a playable character in this game. If there is no DLC focused on Bray Wyatt then I have no idea what they are even doing.
Tegan Nox – Is anyone shocked that Nox is not in the game? She returned to WWE in December of 2022 and it was impossible to put her in the game. Nox is a name to watch for in a DLC.
Mia Yim – Not surprised that Mia Yim is not in the game as it was a bit late for her to be included in WWE 2K23. By the way, they better not call her Michin when she is in the game as that name is super cringe.
Chelsea Green – Not a shock at all as she just returned to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Emma – Not surprised as Emma was brought back in December and it was too late for her to be added to the game.
Bronson Reed – Bronson Reed can’t catch a break in 2K as he was supposed to be a playable character on WWE 2K22, but due to his release was scrubbed from the game. Now he won’t be in this game unless he is involved in a DLC.
Tiffany Stratton – It sucks that I won’t be able to play Stratton in this game as she is my favorite women’s wrestler in the NXT System. She is getting better and better with every week and I am very excited to see her eventually get called up from NXT to the main roster. I think she will be on an NXT DLC.
Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) – This is a bit of a head-scratcher to me. Not only because they have been signed with WWE since 2019 & were the tag team champions when NXT UK was a thing. Heck, they were even Tag Team Champions in the true NXT brand as well. There needs to be an explanation of why they are not in the game.
Roderick Strong- I am stunned as Strong was in last year’s game and is a notable member of NXT during the Black and Gold days. I wonder what the reasoning was for leaving him off of WWE 2K23.
Trick Williams – Wait, Huh? If Carmelo Hayes is in WWE 2K23 then why is Trick Williams not in it? I am lost on this one.
Tony DeAngelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo – Speaking of being stunned we have DeAngelo and Stacks. These two are definitely on my list of favorite superstars on NXT. If they both are not in a DLC I will be super disappointed.
Joey Gacy – What is with WWE and highly popular superstars in the NXT brand not being in the game? Will there be an NXT DLC coming? That is my question.
Von Wagner – They have been pushing Von Wagner since NXT 2.0 was starting and I thought he would be in this game. Turns out I was wrong.
Conclusion:
So those are the pro wrestlers that are not in the game. Now before you say “Well, What about Scarlett and Maxxine Dupri?” It has been confirmed that they will be managers in the game and managers are not playable or going to be labeled as pro wrestlers. So that makes sense as I remembered that Scarlett not a few weeks ago was suddenly removed from the 2K23 roster. I just hope that all of the wrestlers not in the original roster become available to play when the DLC comes out for this game.
WWE 2K23 will be released on March 17th, 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
