The second chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s epic tale of Dune has been confirmed to be released on Max on May 21st, 2024. Dune 2, which originally premiered in March, continues the story from the first movie and sees Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides as he unites with the Fremen and seeks to save the galaxy from the Harkonnen empire, who are responsible for the death of his father. Villeneuve directed both films and the sequel features a star-studded leading cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Josh Brolin, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

If you managed to miss Dune: Part Two in theatres, now is a perfect time to catch up as it will be available to stream at the end of the month. Dune: Part One is also available to stream there if you need to get caught up on both. A third film is in development, though details on it are slim and it’s unknown if Denis Villeneuve will return to direct, though he has gone on record stating that he would. Critics everywhere have called Dune: Part Two a “sci-fi masterpiece,” it was a box office hit raking in $710 million in its global theatrical run, which surpassed its 2021 predecessor.
