Taking a break from his duology A Quiet Place, John Krasinski brings us IF—a live-action/CGI hybrid family-friendly comedy movie about a girl who can see everyone’s imaginary friend. Krasinski enlists Ryan Reynolds, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Steve Carell, Emily Blunt, and Matt Damon to lead the cast, and if you want to hear our thoughts on it, click here to hear Tyler and Haiden as they discuss their thoughts.

When Will IF Be on Streaming?

Though the movie has a stellar cast and a generally positive critics rating, the movie hasn’t done too well at the box office. Thanks to BoxOfficeMojo, we can read that the IF only had a $33 million opening, a lot less than the original projected gross of $40 million across 4,041 theaters across the United States. After a disappointing run at the box office, IF has now garnered $103 million worldwide against a $110 million budget. What does this mean for streaming?

While it’s unknown when IF will go to Paramount+, we know that throughout 2023 and 2024, Paramount put their movies on their streaming service 46 days after their theatrical debut, and if Paramount sticks with that, we could see IF released on the platform in early July. However, given that it’s done so poorly at the box office, this movie could mirror what happened with The Fall Guy and be released straight to digital for purchase by the end of the month, since The Fall Guy was available to purchase within 18 days after its theatrical debut, which is shockingly quick.
