After a 10-year journey, we have finally defeated The Witness, and the battle between light and darkness is over. But the fight isn’t over yet. Dark forces still lurk in the system, and we have to put an end to them. Find out what comes next after Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

Episode 1: Echoes

Destiny 2, Episode 1, echoes

Episode 1: Echoes kicked off on June 11th after The Witness was defeated. The Vex have transformed Nessus, and it’s our job to find out what’s happening. The new seasonal activity, Breech Executable, sees guardians track down ancient Vex technology with brand-new weapons available to earn in these activities. Act 1 officially ended on Tuesday, June 25th, with the completion of the mission “Mesmerize.” We now look forward to the release of Act 2 on July 16 and Act 3 on August 27, which will conclude Episode 1 of Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

Episode 2: Revenant

Destiny 2, Episode 2, revenant

Episode 2: Revenant will be more dark fantasy-themed and about “slaying vampires with a touch of splicer mixed in,” as seen from the Dev Insights video, The Journey Ahead, posted on Bungie on June 10. Fikural is back and has a new army of darkness that we must stop. We learn that we will be “Slayer-Barons,” which were reserved for the most renowned monster hunters. We will also see the addition of “Potion Crafting.” There will be combat positions that will directly affect your artifact and loot positions, which will allow you to be more specific with the rewards you want. There is no official release date yet for when Episode 2 comes out.

Episode 3: Heresy

Destiny 2, Episode 3, heresy

Episode 3: Heresy focuses on the “Hive pantheon.” A new force leads us back to the Dreadnaught, which is where we slayed Oryx, The Taken King, all the way back in Destiny 1. We learn that this episode’s concept is that something beneath the Dreadnaught is “peeling back.” We will see this on the walls and interior of the Dreadnaught, as well as the new weapons. We also get a sneak peek at the two new armor sets with an Eris Morn-inspired look and a Hive Navigator set. There is no official release date yet for when Episode 3 comes out.

Year 11, Codename: Frontiers

Destiny 2, Frontiers

At the end of the Dev Insights video, we are teased with year 11 of Destiny 2. All we know is that it’s codenamed “Frontiers.” There is much speculation that this will take us beyond Sol and into a new galaxy. That’s pretty much all we know about what’s to come in 2025 for Destiny 2.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
