It’s already time for another edition of MLB The Show to be released, and where has the time gone?. A lot of new features will be added to the game, and I can’t wait to try it out in the next game. One unique feature to MLB The Show 23 that is getting a lot of hype is called Captain Cards, which are very intriguing.
Now that Derek Jeter, legendary captain of the New York Yankees, has joined MLB The Show 23 as a legend player, adding the Captain Cards into the new game seems like a natural fit.
What are Captain Cards?
Captain Cards allow the player to be designated as the leader of your team, thus getting a boost. This boost is utilized by matching the particular player’s special abilities. It seems that they not only get a boost to their own abilities, but can positively impact performance of their teammates too.
This is something that could be a fantastic edition to the game, as utilizing these cards can make a huge difference in how you construct your Diamond Dynasty squads. Getting any boost could greatly benefit anybody who uses it properly.
While we know what they can add, a few questions need to be asked.
- How many Captain Cards be utilized in a single game?
- Can Captain Cards be traded, and if so, how much?
- Can they be utilized in multiple modes or, specifically one only?
- Will there be microtransactions placed on getting the Captain Cards?
- How much of an impact will these Cards truly have in the game?
There is only one way to find out: when the game comes out. However, it is another reason to get hyped for the game, as I wonder how they will fully be implemented. I hope it does well, as I love playing MLB The Show, and I would hate if these cards hindered the experience.
