The Yakuza series by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is one of the wackier RPG offerings, and the studio’s upcoming spin-off, Like a Dragon Ishin!, is no different. Although the debut trailer reveals that the characters are played by the same actors as the previous Yakuza titles, including Kiryu Kazama and Goro Majima voice actors, Like a Dragon Ishin! does not follow Kiryu Kazama and Goro Majima. Instead, it is set in Kyo in 1867, where you will play as Sakamoto Ryoma; a samurai during the Edo period, which was when the country transitioned from feudalism to modern society.
Like a Dragon: Ishin! is one of the few Yakuza games that was originally released exclusively for the PS3 and PS4 in Japan in 2014, originally called Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! Now that it is finally releasing overseas, let’s explore the two editions available for pre-order.
