We are now in the month of November, and there are many games getting hyped for their release. One of those games is The Walking Dead Destinies. This game focuses on alternate decisions that the player can make, which can reshape the destinies of the characters within The Walking Dead universe from Seasons 1-4. The hype is real for this game, and a few weeks ago, a trailer was released, revealing some details about the game.
First off, the trailer above was well made, and whoever was behind the scenes did a phenomenal job. There are many takeaways that I have after watching this trailer, but the most notable is at the end when it discusses the release date. It unveils a key detail that kind of surprised me.
So, the game will be releasing a little later than expected. The digital version will be released on November 17th, which is a 3-day delay compared to what was initially expected. When it comes to the physical copies, well, they are expected to hit shelves a lot later. The expectation is that the physical copies will be available around December 2023.
As for my reaction to the release date being moved, it is understandable with the digital version of the game as it is a lot easier to make quicker changes. However, when it comes to the physical copy of the game, I wonder how many sales will be lost due to the delay, especially when the digital copy is available now and much quicker to access. It will be interesting to see how the economic impact will be with the physical copies
No matter what, I am hyped for The Walking Dead: Destinies, as this game has the opportunity to stand out by making choices matter. I just hope this game is not a cash grab like The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct game was.
Walking Dead Destinies will release digitally on November 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Physical versions will launch in December 2023.
