With the 2023 season coming to a close, film fans everywhere have a stacked year in film to look forward to in 2024. 2024 will feature plenty of sequels and revitalizations of franchises we all know and love. From Lord of the Rings returning in a new format to Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy coming to a close, 2024 is a big blockbuster season for cinema, and here is the breakdown for the top 10 desired films of the 2024 season.

A Quiet Place: Day One

John Krasinski shocked audiences with his directorial debut of A Quiet Place in 2018. The horror film was a hit for audiences and critics alike, which spawned a moderately successful sequel and now we’re getting a prequel that shows us what happened during the first day.

The first film shocked the world as the movie had such few lines of dialogue as the plot revolved around an invasion of aliens that have such sensitive hearing that they can hear the quietest of sounds miles away. The first two films showed us a world after the invasion and A Quiet Place: Day One seems to show us what life was like before the invasion and the events of the very first day.

A Quiet Place: Day One will terrify audiences on March 8th, 2024.

Gladiator 2

Ridley Scott returns to cinema with Gladiator 2, a sequel to his 2000 hit historical drama Gladiator. While not much is known about the plot of the movie, we do know that the movie is set approximately 15 years after the first movie and revolves around Lucius, now a grown man, after being saved by Maximus from the first film. With a star-studded cast featuring Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielson (reprising her role as Lucilla from Gladiator), Joseph Quinn, and Pedro Pascal.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

After the success of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Jason Reitman handed over the directing reins to Gil Kenan for the sequel, Kenan co-wrote Afterlife with Reitman.
