What Is The High Republic Era?

The High Republic era is characterized by the expansion and migration of Republic citizens into Outer Rim territories and creation of the Starlight Beacon. The Galactic Republic was at the height of its power, contributing to a time of relative peace. However, the Galactic Republic wasn’t the only one at the height of its power, as this time was also known as the golden age of the Jedi Order.

As millions of people migrated to the then-unknown sectors of the Outer Rim, the Galactic Republic relied heavily upon the Jedi Order to maintain peace. This led to the Jedi being extremely active throughout the universe. However, as one may imagine, peace in the Star Wars universe doesn’t last too long.

When Exactly Does This Era Take Place?

Now, for the moment you’ve been waiting for, when does the High Republic take place? To put it simply, The High Republic era is the big chunk of time right before the events of The Phantom Menace. If you’re having trouble visualizing this period, think of a young Count Dooku and Darth Plagueis the wise. Events that occurred during the High Republic directly influence the fall of the Jedi in the subsequent era. The force had already begun to veil itself to the Jedi Order by this time as the Sith carefully plotted their next move.

How Long Does The High Republic Last?

The High Republic begins somewhere around 382 B.B.Y. and ends 300 years later at 80 B.B.Y. Though, there were many conflicts and skirmishes fought, the galaxy was safe from any full-scale wars. The High Republic era began with introducing the Path of The Open Hand on the planet Dalna and ended 50 years before the Galactic Civil War era.
