Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will see players taking up the mantle of Senua, a Pict warrior fighting her way through Helheim to rescue the soul of her lost lover from the goddess Hel. Hellblade 2 takes players to Iceland, where Senua returns on a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland.

Hellblade 2 is the first Xbox-exclusive title to be developed on the Unreal 5 Engine and by the looks of the trailer, Ninja Theory is outdoing themselves with this one; which is pretty crazy because even on an older generation of hardware, the beautifully designed first game still looked amazing. After being initially announced in 2019, the sequel to the 2017 action-adventure game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is expected to release in 2024 for Xbox Series consoles.

And in addition to PC, Hellblade 2 will probably release only on Xbox Series consoles. Unlike Senua’s Sacrifice, it’s unlikely there will be a Playstation release. The original title, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice released on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2017, and on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2018. But that same year, Microsoft announced at E3 that they were acquiring four studios: Playground Games, Undead Labs, Compulsion Games, and Ninja Theory — the latter being the developer of Hellblade 2. This means Hellblade 2 will most likely be an Xbox and PC-exclusive title.
