EA Sports is getting a ton of hype right now in the Football Community. Fans are excited about EA Sports College Football, but many forget that Madden 25 is not too far behind it. This year’s Madden reveal is likely coming soon, with the most exciting announcement to come being the Cover Athlete. Here are the 5 most likely players who could be on the cover of the game.

Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, CB, New York Jets

Okay, this is a longshot, but Jets fans would love to see it. This is the player they want most. He is the face of their defense, and one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL; Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner.

Gardner has been a shutdown cornerback , and has been the first transcendent talent the Jets have had at cornerback since Darelle Revis. The Jets defense is one of the best cores in the NFL, and the Jets have potential to go on a deep playoff run. Gardner as the face of the game, since he’s part of the team in one of the biggest markets in New York, could be a smart play for EA.

Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers

The ironically dubbed “Mr. Irrelevant”, the final pick of his NFL Draft, has had such a phenomenal career in the NFL. Purdy became so much more relevant by becoming a tremendous asset to a 49ers rosters that made it to the Superbowl. EA Sports could make Brock Purdy even more relevant in the NFL by putting him on the cover of the next Madden game. After all, with him still on his rookie contract, he deserves yet another nice paycheck for what he has done in this league.

Micah Parsons, LB, Dallas Cowboys

It is not common for a defensive player to be on the cover of a Madden game. However, it has happened before. Should it in 2024, the best choice would be Linebacker Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys. Yes, he is a linebacker, not a DE/EDGE rusher like Madden labeled him in last year’s game.

Hopefully EA Sports can fix that error, and to do more than make a good apology, they could grant him the honor of putting Parsons on the cover of the game. He is considered by many to be the best defensive player in the league. As an added bonus, he is a part of the most valuable Sports Franchise in the world; the Dallas Cowboys.

Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions

The Jared Goff trade has been one of the greatest win-win trades in NFL History. The Rams got their Superbowl by getting Matthew Stafford, and the Lions get their QB of the future. The trade also gained them important draft capital that helped the team rebuild.

Goff is the first QB to take the Detroit Lions to a Championship game since 1991. The Lions have finally made it to the big leagues, and Goff has been a big reason why as their star QB. If Madden wants to capitalize on that and keep the Madden 25 tradition of a Lion being on the cover (Barry Sanders, 2013) then Goff would be a good choice. This would be a huge way to honor the Detroit Lions’ franchise and its community.

Travis Kelce, TE , Kansas City Chiefs

Just give the cover of this game to Travis Kelce EA. We you know you want to, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense. Travis Kelce has become a household name, both for his talent on the field, and of course, his very public relationship with Taylor Swift. A lot of folks may be tired of seeing Kelce and Swift on their TVs and Phone Screens, but there’s no denying the momentum Travis Kelce has, which could earn him this spot.

The thing is, I would not mind it. Travis Kelce is a part of the current NFL Dynasty with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a vital part of back-to-back Superbowl wins with the Chiefs as well. Honestly, I would be more shocked if he is not on the cover in Madden 25.

If it isn’t obvious, If I had to choose the one athlete who will most likely be on the cover for Madden 25 I am going to pick Travis Kelce. Do you think there are any heavy contenders for the Madden 25 Cover Athelete we left out? Let us know.

Madden 25 is expected to release on August 16th, 2024
