Mortal Kombat 1 is generating a lot of hype, and for good reason, as Mortal Kombat games are incredibly fun to play. One thing I’m particularly excited about is when the DLC characters will become available to play. The first DLC has already been revealed for Mortal Kombat 1, and it’s called the Kombat Pack. The Kombat Pack will focus on adding gritty superheroes, along with a few Mortal Kombat characters. In total, there will be 6 new characters available.

Mortal Kombat 1: Ermac

Kind of a headscratcher that Ermac was not in the Mortal Kombat 1 game already. At least, he will be a part of the DLC. Ermac; an amalgam of souls with powerful telekinetic abilities, is a classic character in the Mortal Kombat franchise. His inclusion in the DLC should add more depth and variety to the gameplay, especially with his unique abilities. Fans of Ermac will likely be excited to see him make his appearance in the game.

Mortal Kombat 1: Homelander

Yes, it’s Homelander from the comic book series and television show The Boys. If there is one way to describe Homelander, it would be a psychotic and evil version of Superman. I mean he has the strength, the ability to fly, and even has laser eyes. I think it will be cool to play as Homelander and I better hear some egotistical statements to fit his character.

Mortal Kombat 1: Omni-Man

Omni Man is an anti-hero style character in the TV Series Invincible. Omni Man is a powerfully strong combatant with the power to fly and he fits well in Mortal Kombat 1. The best part here is that J.K. Simmons is going to do the voice-acting work for the game as well, which is just awesome. Now all we need is his J. Jonah Jamison character from Spiderman.

Mortal Kombat 1: Peacemaker

Heck yes, Peacemaker is in Mortal Kombat. He’s genuinely one of my favorite superheroes, appearing in the latest Suicide Squad movie and shining in the HBO Peacemaker show. For those unfamiliar, Peacemaker is a violent vigilante with the goal of achieving peace at any cost. I wonder if his pet eagle, Eagly, will also be featured in this game. Eagly could provide additional attack options for Peacemaker, complementing his usage of firearms, archery, swords, and explosives. (I do wonder if we’ll get to see him in action in this game. After all, Peacemaker is portrayed by John Cena, a man who can do so many things without us being able to see him.)

Quan Chi:

Mortal Kombat 1: Quan-chi

Quan Chi is a very notable name in the Mortal Kombat series. He has often been the primary villain of the game and it shocked me when he was not on the original game roster. If you don’t know, Quan Chi’s use of dark magic and his unique fighting style make him a formidable adversary and a compelling addition to the Mortal Kombat roster.

Mortal Kombat 1: Takeda

Again another headscratcher that Takeda is not already included as he is the son of Kenshi who is in the base game. Takeda is a warrior-type character and utilizes a unique combination of martial arts skills and telekinetic abilities, bringing a distinct style to the game. Fans of the character will likely be thrilled to have the opportunity to play as Takeda and explore his moves and powers within the Mortal Kombat universe.

While the game is not fully out yet, I am hyped for the DLC with the Kombat Pack. Each and every character will make a great addition to the game. The one I can’t wait to play is Peacemaker as I love the way DC has handled his character and the TV Series is great. Who are you hyped to play in Mortal Kombat 1? Let me know in the comment section.

Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 14th, 2023 and it will be playable on Xbox Series X, PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
