The map of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is massive, making fast travel an essential tool in your adventure. In this article, we’ll run through everything you need to know about the quickest travel method in Hyrule’s damaged lands.
How to Unlock Fast Travel

To fast travel, you must first gain entry to the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island.
To do this, follow Rauru’s instructions and complete the Ukouh, In-isa, and Gutanbac shrines on the island. Each of these shrines will give you a new ability and also teach you how to use it, functioning as a tutorial. Once you’ve completed the three shrines, Link’s new arm will be “restored” enough to enter the Temple of Time. Head back to the temple (it will be marked on your map) and you will now be able to enter… only to find another set of immovable doors.
Rauru will appear again and explain that Link’s arm is still too weak, but there is one more shrine on the island that Link can complete to grow stronger. The shrine will be marked on your map, which happens to be next to the blue icon called “Room of Awakening.” Hover over the icon on your map and you will see that you can press A to “travel.” You have now unlocked fast travel, but where can you fast travel to?
Fast Travel to Shrines

From the sky to the soil, Hyrule is teeming with shrines. Once you’ve completed a shrine, it will become available as a fast travel point. The vast amount of shrines will quickly give you a wide network of fast travel points across the map as you explore. Completed shrines will be blue on the map, which is the common color for all the available fast travel points.
Fast Travel to Skyview Towers

The Skyview Towers are also points for fast travel. There is a tower located in each section of the map, but there are significantly fewer than shrines. To allow for fast travel, you will need to activate the tower. Activating a tower is not possible until you have progressed far enough in the main story.
Fast Travel to Lightroots

Lightroots are, as the name implies, light-emitting roots found in chasms beneath Hyrule. These are your lifeline in the subterranean section of the map and also serve as the fast travel points of the underground. Whenever you are looking to jump back into exploring the chasms, you will fast-travel to the lightroot nearest to the “last location” marker on the map.
You now know everything there is about fast travel in Tears of the Kingdom. Go now and rid the darkness plaguing the lands of Hyrule and find Princess Zelda! Fast travels, friend.
