Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy is the newest addition to the Harry Potter universe and released today, February 10th, with the commotion surrounding its release being quite magical. It has already been breaking plenty of records and dominating the gaming space with nearly 500,000 continuous players on Steam.
Being one of the most highly anticipated games of the year so far, it’s no surprise to see these numbers given the slew of trailers and gameplay footage we have be teased with so far. In the cinematic trailer that was released just a few weeks ago we got to see the true scope of what this game has begun to promise us that highlighted the beauty of Hogwarts after hours.

We follow a messenger owl who is trying to deliver an acceptance letter to a future student, flying through the castle, dodging students practicing their spells for Charms class and whizzing by Nearly Headless Nick. When we finally get outside the walls of the castle we are greeted by the splendor of Hogwarts at night. Enchanting us under the moonlight to reveal more of the castle than what we had seen before.
This bird’s-eye view of the castle shows us what we can expect to see and do as future students of Hogwarts and giving us clues on the types of enemies we might encounter. No matter what house you belong to it seems like there is plenty to explore and discover, with mysterious enemies lurking around and fearsome creatures to fight.
