EA Sports PGA Tour has debuted Season 3 just in time for the U.S. Open on the PGA tour this week. The new season will include new gear, challenges, and a brand new course to celebrate the third Major of the year.

When it launched in April 2023, EA Sports PGA Tour promised to feature the Major tournaments better than its primary competition, PGA Tour 2K23. Before delaying the game into 2023, EA Sports had secured the rights to every Major tournament host course on the 2022 PGA Tour schedule. The delay threw a wrench into that, but EA has worked hard to deliver this year’s courses to players.

EA Sports PGA Tour Season 3 Courses

The 2023 U.S. Open is taking place at the Los Angeles Country Club in Los Angeles, CA. As a result, EA is bringing the course to EA Sports PGA Tour for Season 3.

The Los Angeles Country Club has the following features:

  • Course Length: 7,423 yards
  • Par: 70
  • Signature Hole: #11, a Par-3, 290-yard hole that will require distance to make a green that certainly isn’t big

Currently, there are more than 30 licensed courses in EA Sports PGA Tour for fans to enjoy.

Among the new gear is U.S. Open-themed apparel and accessories, including a polo shirt and hat. There is also a drop of new apparel and gear from name brands around the world of golf.

Players have been clamoring for EA to release Nike apparel into the store for customization. There are several Nike shoes in the store right now, as well as Air Jordan polos and shirts. So, that’s a step in the right direction.

Take a look at the new clubs and other equipment, too. Having the right gear can really affect your shot in EA Sports PGA Tour.

Tournaments and Challenges

There are a good number of new tournaments and challenges in EA Sports PGA Tour Season 3, giving players chances to compete outside of the career mode and a multiplayer that’s sadly needing updates and support.

Challenges give players a chance to earn rewards for successfully replicating great moments from this week’s U.S. Open tournament. New challenges are added after each day of play, giving you something new to shoot for and earn.

Tournaments have tiered rewards structures, and they take the form of daily, weekly, or quick 4-hole tournaments. The tournaments with the higher entry fees will give the best rewards if you finish in the top tiers of the leaderboard, but if you’re new to tournaments it’s recommended to start with ones that have lower entry requirements.

There aren’t a lot of online game modes in EA Sports PGA Tour, so challenges and tournaments will help you keep the experience feeling new.

EA Sports PGA Tour is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
