EA Sports College Football 25 is almost here, and it is a very exiting time for sports video game players. Especially as this is the first time in many years that College Football is available for others to play. This has led to a lot of people asking questions regarding the game and a big one is focused on crossplay. Well some information got revealed about cross play for this game and there are few things to know about it.

What is Crossplay?

So, before we dive into it, let’s talk about the definition of crossplay. Crossplay allows video game players to match up against other players on another platform via online modes. Since EA Sports College Football 25 is only available on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles, the question for players is whether Xbox players can play with PlayStation players.

The answer is yes—sometimes—with one important mode left out.

What Modes will Cross Play be Allowed in EA Sports College Football 25?

Crossplay exists in the following game modes in College Football 25: Road to College Football Playoffs, College Football Ultimate Teams, and Play a Friend. None of these are surprising modes to have crossplay in 2024, with both Ultimate Team and Play a Friend being wildly popular with fans. However, notably absent is the Online Dynasty-type mode, which allows players to be in an online league with their friends over the course of many seasons.

What About Leaderboards?

Leaderboards are essential in certain modes in EA Sports College Football 25. Luckily, it is available in this game, and it is going to be a global leaderboard with PlayStation and Xbox users combined. If you opt out of crossplay, you will only see players from the console you’re playing on represented on the leaderboard.
