Dead Island 2 is quite popular these days, and it’s easy to see why. The latest installment in the Dead Island series, the game is filled with all the fun, humor, and over the top gore you would expect. What’s not to love? After all, everyone enjoys a good zombie game.

In spite of the simplicity of the game’s overall premise, it’s easy to miss some of the finer points of game play, like how to fast travel. Let’s just get right to it, shall we? After all, you have a ton of zombies you should be taking care of instead of reading this.

How To Open Up Fast Travel

Because it’s featured somewhat late in the game, a lot of people miss the fact that you can fast travel in Dead Island 2. It’s definitely a perk you’ll want to take advantage of, though, since it makes backtracking infinitely easier.

Fast travel makes its appearance once you reach Venice Beach, which is the sixth location in the game, out of ten total. So you go through quite a bit of gaming before this perk becomes available. Look for the Red Mist quest (one of the main quests) to open up the fast travel option. Find the Blue Crab Grill, to get started. Keep in mind, it won’t be like other games, with open world fast travel capabilities. You can only use it when you’re in a relevant safe house with a map, likely stuck on a wall or table.

From there, you interact with the map, gaining the ability to fast travel to different regions. It’s not a bad idea to travel to all the other maps and take note of where they are, since it can sometimes be tricky to find them organically. Or, you can just look them up. We’ll put a list down below.

Once you have fast travel, it’s easy to go find missed collectibles, weapons, or even complete side missions you may have skipped. If you’re tracking a specific quest, the location will be highlighted so you know where to go. You’ll also notice that some of the locations you’ve already been to may have maps now. Fun extra? You can choose if it’s day or night from the fast travel map.
