If there was ever a moment the powers at be needed to shake up the servers and elevate competition within the gaming community, the timing couldn’t be better. Call of Duty is going back to its roots and reintroducing the world to hardcore gameplay and here’s what you need to know about it.
Considered to be one of the more daunting game modes in the COD series, Hardcore redefines what it means to rely on a tactical approach and use your situational awareness to stay alert and alive. In case you forgot, the name speaks for itself. Limited health, no mini maps without an assisted perk like UAV, no visible enemy tags, and every trigger-happy gamer’s worst nightmare, friendly fire.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Start Date
Delayed from its original release date of February 1st, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is set to drop season 2 after a two-week adjustment period following Activision’s response to fan requests and concerns via their blog and various other channels of engagement. Instead, Season 2 will launch February 15th with a few upgrades, including; new multiplayer maps, game modes featuring Hardcore mode and Ground War, and new weapons and ranked play getting a self-revive.
With the resurgence of Hardcore mode and a new cache of weapons and maps, fans should look forward to some intense gaming sessions, and maybe a rage quit or two. The fans have been pleading, and it seems like Activision is answering the call.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
