Announced at the 2023 The Game Awards on Thursday, Bethesda revealed that it’s teaming up with Arkane Lyon to make a Blade game for Marvel Entertainment. Known for Dishonored and Prey, Arkane Lyon stated that the game will feature an original story featuring the Daywalker in a locked down and quarantined Paris featuring their signature immersive gameplay and world-class narrative in a brand new single-player game.

A Blade Video Game is On the Way

Studio Director Dinga Bakaba has also stated that the game will be an “immersive third-person action adventure,” so it’ll be interesting to see how Arkane makes a game that’s in the third-person perspective as they are mostly known for games with the first-person perspective, such as Dishonored, Prey, Deathloop, and Redfall, the latter of which was poorly received earlier this year, though has since received some patches to fix issues with the game.

It’s also worth noting that not only was it revealed that the game has just now started development, so it may be some time before we see a release or any other news for the game, but this game is being developed and published by two Microsoft-owned franchises. While it’s obvious this game will not join Spider-Man in being a Sony-exclusive title, it won’t surprise any if it’s an Xbox-exclusive title, though since Deathloop did release for both PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, we may see Blade release to both platforms.
